I ordered the chicken gyros panini, Lucinda had the pork gyros wrap, and both came out fast, fresh, and tasted great. After walking around and seeing how expensive a lot of Santorini’s restaurants can be, this place felt like a much better value for what you get. If you want real food in Santorini without paying for the view, this is the kind of spot worth knowing about. Family‑run, straightforward, and focused on good food at a fair price.

Rome is packed with tourist‑trap pizza… so Big Dave went looking for the real thing. That search led straight to Pizzeria Mediterranea — a tiny, lunch‑only local spot where most of the customers are Romans, not tourists . They make every pizza fresh in‑house (not the frozen stuff they “poison tourists with,” according to reviews) and they sell it the classic Roman way: by weight.

I tried five different pizzas — eggplant, potato, margherita , bacon, mushroom & three‑cheese — plus a rice ball to round it all out. Light, crispy, fresh, and nothing like the tourist slices you see all over the city.

Prices aren’t “cheap” by North American standards, but you’re paying for real Roman pizza made fresh, not the tourist‑trap version.
